Stickies
|
Stickies lets you keep notes on your desktop so you’ll never forget what you need. They’re great for jotting down reminders, lists, and other information. Stickies notes can include rich graphics, and you can change their colors, fonts, and font sizes. You can also export your notes as text documents to share with others. |

TextEdit is an easy-to-use word processor built into Mac OS X. It’s great for creating simple compositions, but it also includes features like spelling and grammar check, autosave, tables, smart quotes, lists, and graphics. You can save your documents in a number of formats including plain and rich text, Microsoft Word, OpenDocument Text, and HTML. |

Everyone. A word of warning, though--this app is glitchy and has been known to lose files. But it is excellent at opening word processing files that Pages won’t open. |

DataStudio is a data collection and analysis software that works with all PASCO interfaces (probes, microscopes, etc). DataStudio also has a nice graphing tool and other utlities that can be used without the probes. |

Google SketchUp is a drawing tool that allows you to create. modify, and share 3D models. It is very easy to learn. It also includes LayOut, which makes it easy to build design presentation using SketchUp models. This application was donated to the MLTI Project from our friends at Google. You can also access Google's 3D Warehouse to download pre-built models of famous buildings and more! |

Front Row is a full screen media browsing tool. Even without a remote, you can manipulate front row using the arrow and enter keys. Front Row follows the same sharing rules that are set in iTunes and iPhoto. Image Capture

Omni
Dictionary
|
OmniDictionary is a Mac OS X client for network dictionary servers. It's pretty straightforward: type a word into the entry field, hit return, and the definition is displayed. If the dictionary server supports multiple dictionaries, you can select your desired dictionary from the dictionary popup to limit queries to that specific dictionary, or you can query all the dictionaries. |

ClamXAV

An open-source anti-virus application. Virus scans and updates are performed by ClamXAV in the background on a regular basis. You cannot see these schedules in the ClamXAV graphic user interface, but don't worry, they are there. Note that If Clam finds a virus in a file, it will move the file to the admin user's desktop. |

CyberDuck is an open source, fully featured FTP/SFTP client. Users may use it to upload web pages to web servers and perform other file transfer needs. |
